<수의 일치>

*be 동사의 수일치

-be 동사의 현재형:am/are/is

I am

she,he,it 등 3인칭 단수이면 is

you, 또는 복수 이면 are을 쓴다.

대명사의 수일치에 유의 : Do you prefer the green shoes or the blue ones?

S(3인칭단수)+V (is was/has/does/일반동사 현재형+s)

*일반동사의 수일치

주요법칙

1)접속사의 해석 어순에 따라

- A as well as B : A에 동사일치

either A or B

Neither A nor B

not only A but also B : B에 동사일치 (위 세지문)

유도부사 there는 뒤의 주어에 동사 일치

there is a very distinct difference,

there are no major art galleries in this city,

* lots of/a lot of/all of/some of/the rest of/분수 of/percent of

the rest of apple is rotten. 사과하나의 일부분이 상햇다.

the rest of apples are rotten.사과 여러개중 일부가 상햇다.

명사 -> 대명사(수일치)

단수명사 -> one it he she him her

-형식상 앞의 대명사가 주어이긴 하지만 뒤에서 수식하는 명사가 복수가산 명사이면 복수, 불가산이면 단수로 동사의 수를 일치

*후치수식에 의해 주어와 술어동사가 멀어질 때 ‘전치사+명사’ 외 to부정사 분사구 형용사구 에 의해 주어인 명사가 후치수식되어 주어와 술어동사 사이가 벌어질 경우 우선적으로 맨앞의 주어와 동사부터 일치

The fruits so well ripe that they are abkout to fall at any moment are the first to be picked up.

so ~ that 주의

*명사 + who,which,that (관계사주격) + V

관계사 자체는 단,복수 구별이 없으므로 앞의 명사 (선행사)에 관계사절의 동사를 일치시킨다.

주의) 명사+전치사+명사+who,which,that(관계사주격) +V 의 경우는 관계사절이 무엇을 수식하는지 문맥을 보고 선행사를 결정

ex) The animal with long hind legs which are perfect for jumping is called Kangaroo.

4. 듣고난 소감 :

Bananas contain resistant starch which research shows block conversation of some carbohydrates into fuel,~

Bananas 주어 contain 동사 resistant starch 목적어

( research shows ) 의견삽입부분

따라서 Blocks 가 되어야 한다. which의 선행사는 저항전분이다서 동사는 단수형 blocks를 써야 한다.

아는 듯 모르는 듯 한 파트 인데가 바로 수일치 인 것 같다.

쉬우면서도 헷갈리는 개념을 다시한번 완벽하게 잡고 넘어가야겠다.
