<등위접속사>

and(or,nor,but)

관절=접착제 역할

-She likes to sit between you and I (X) -> me.

-He sometimes looks sad and strange.

-He sometimes looks sad and strangely at me.

여기서, He sometimes looks = X

sad = a , strangely at me = b

and 와 strangely at me 사이에 he sometimes looks 가 생각되어 있다.

구조는 수학구조와 같이 Xa+Xb=X(a+b) 이다.

and는 + 역할을 한다. 즉 등위접속사는 같은 역할을 할 수 있는 것끼리 연결되기 때문에 반드시 같은 품사나 같은 구조가 아닐 수도 있다.

Xa+Xb=X(a+b)

aY+bY=(a+b)Y

XaY+XbY=X(a+b)Y

- He is a doctor and very considerate.

a doctor = C 보어 역할 very considerate = C 보어역할

- He is a soccer player but in the bad condition.

a soccer player = a , in the bad condition = b

* Xa+Xb = X(a+b) 의 구조

- He forgot to lock the door and (to open/opening) the window.

둘다 정답. 그러나 의미상 다르다.

forget + O (명 대명 동명 to vR 절)

Ving - ~ 한 것을 잊다.치매

to vR - ~할 것을 잊다. 건망증

to open 일 경우 해석은 그는 문을 잠구는 것과 창문을 열어둘 것을 잊어 버렷다.

opening 일 경우 해석은 그는 문을 잠구는 것과 창문을 열어두었다는 것을 잊어 버렸다.로 해석된다.

-He wants me to stay and (help / helping) him.

want + O + to vR (O.C 명사 / 형용사 ing p.p/ to vR）

따라서 helping은 되지 않는다.

<stay> , <help him> 연결

-Let's go and see her.

go 는 자동사 see는 타동사로 see her 과 go를 이어준다.

aY+bY 구조

-My wife and children are very cheerful.

A: wife B: children My: X

-(He told me his father would die) and (he was very sorry).

-He loves (and) likes me.

-Go get him.

-Come have tea with me.

한국말에서 가 자 - 가고 자

가는 예비행동 주 행동은 자 접착제 생략가능하다.

(stop,try,go,come 네가지가 해당된다.)

-I didn't go there, <because I wanted to stay with him> and <out of fear for the unknown place.>

등위접속사에 대한 오해를 갖고 있었다. 역할상의 대등관계가 아니라 아주 편하게 같은 모양이나 같은 품사를 연결해야 하는 것으로 아주 착각을 하고 있었다.
