조동사 need not -할 필요가 없는 (의문문과 부정문에서만 사용한다)

need to V.R

I don't need to see her. =I need not see her.

Does he need to do it? =Need he do it?

He need not go there. =He doesn't need to go there.

dare not 감히 -할수 없는 (부정문과 의문문에서만 사용한다)

He dare not fight. =He does not dare to fight.

Dare he look at my face? =Does he dare to look at my face?

기능성 조동사: 뜻은 없고 기능만 있음

be 동사: ing분사와  함께 진행시제, pp분사와 수동태를 만든다

현재완료나 과거완료를 만들때 조동사역할을 한다.

일반동사의 의문문, 부정문 그리고 강조문과 대동사의 역할을 할때 조동사이다.

두 단어 이상으로 만들어지며 궁극적으로 본동사를 붙여 동사의 의미를 보조하는 역할을 한다.

may as well -하는 것이 더 나은

had better V.R than V.R = would rather V.R than V.R

be going to V.R -할 작정이다 / 부정은 be not going to

can과 다른점은 능력과 실행

have to V.R의 부정은 don't have to

usded to -하곤 했다 (과거의 지속적 습관)

의문문은 did + S + use to + V.R /부정문은 didn't use to + V.R

조동사 + have pp 더 과거에 대한일에 대해 언급. 한가지 의미로만 해석함

1. may have pp -했을지도 몰라

2. may not have pp -하지 않았을지도 몰라

3. should have pp -했어야만 했어 그래서 유감이야 (큰유감의 표현)

4. should not have pp -하지 말았어야 했어 그래서 유감이야

5. must have pp -했음에 틀림 없어

6. cannot have pp -했을리가 없어

7. ought to have pp -했어야만 했어

8. ought not to have pp -하지 말았어야 했어

9. need not have pp -할 필요가 없었는데 했다 (긍정문사용X/ 부정문과 의문문에서만 사용)
