mend : (개선을 위해서 고치는 개념) 

mend + 명사 : 고치다 , 개선하다 

ex) How dare you try to mend my behavior

자동사 mend : 호전되다, 개심하다

ex) It is never late to mend 

    Least said, soonest mended => 말을 최소화하고, 빠르게 개선해라 => 말할 시간에 개선해라 의 의미 

Don't mention it : 2 가지의 뉘양스 (1) 그런말 하지마라 (2) 천만에요 

mention + 명사 : 언급하다, 거명하다 

She feared mentioning all the names involved 

We can't afford a car, not to mention the fact that we have no garage 

mention that s + v : 말하다

mess + 명사 : 망쳐놓다, 엉망으로 만들다

need + Ving : ~ 할 필요가 있다 ( 수동관계 ) => 주어 와 Ving 가 동사와 목적어 관계

ex) My camera needs mending => mending 의 목적어가 My camera 

    It needs no accounting for => accounting for 의 목적어가 it 

need 는 부정문과 의문문으로 사용되기도 한다 

* don't need to = need no to 

ex) He need not come = He doesn't need to come => 조동사 이기에 인칭구별을 위한 s는 안붙는다 

* Need he go at once? = Does he need to go at once ?
