선생님 forgive of others 가 어색해요. forgive 다음에 of 를 받을수있나요?

여기서 forgiving 은 동사의 진행형이 아니라 분사적 형용사 입니다 하여 be + 형용사 + of 의 구조인 것입니다 만약 of 를 빼면 동사의 진행형으로 해석합니다
