안녕하세요 선생님. 날이 되게 포근해졌네요^^ 존 스튜어트 밀 공리주의 라는 원서 발췌내용입니다. There are few circumstances among those which make up the present condition of human knowledge more unlike what might have been expected or more significant of the backward state in which speculation on the most important subjects still lingers, that the little progress which has been made in the decision of the controversy respecting the criterion of right and wrong. 아래엔 제가 분석해본 것 첨부해보도록하겠습니다 There are few circumstances among those [which make up the present condition of human knowledge 1more unlike what might have been expected or 2more significant of the backward state in which speculation on the most important subjects still lingers, than the little progress which has been made in the decision of the controversy respecting the criterion of right and wrong.] which 절 내에서 which = 주어 make up = 5형식 동사 (up은 부사로 동사의미 강조한다고 보면되는건가요?) condition = 목적어 more unlike = 1번 목적보어 more significant = 2번목적보어 로 크게 이루어지는 것이고, what might have been expected 는, more unlike에 걸리는 명사절 of the backward state in which speculation on the most important subjects still lingers 는, 2번목적보어에 걸리는 명사목적어 + 관계사절 그 뒤에 than은 목적보어1,2에 more이있기 때문에 온 것이라고 보면 되는 것 맞는지요;.. 해놓고도 자신이 없습니다 해석은 아래처럼했습니다 옳고 그름의 기준을 존중하는 논쟁의 결정에 있어서 만들어진 작은 진보보다, 이런 상황들 중에는(among those) 인간 지식의 현재의 조건을, 1아마 예상되어진 것과는 좀 더 달리 또는 2 가장 중요한 주제들에 관한 사색이 여전히 안에 남아있는 퇴보하는 상태(backward state)를 더욱 중요하게 만드는 몇 상황들이 있다.
