비교급비교의 생성원리

I have many books / He has many books

I have more books than he

* > <

more / ~er than B

B less + 원급 A

More students studied Latin in the past than now.

Less ( Fewer ) students studied Latin now than in the past.

* 매우 더 크다 < 훨씬 더 크다 맞는표현

very + 비교급 (X)

much,far, a lot , still, even , by far + 비교급

- He is very superior than me in English.

very (X) than -> to

- He is much senior to me. -> He is far older than I

* ~ er than any other + 명사 (단수명사)

~ er than all the other + 명사 (복수명사)

: 다른 무엇보다도 더 ~하다.

* 고래공식

A is no more B than C is D = A is not B any more than C is D

: A 가 B가 아닌 C가 D가 아닌 것과 같다.

앞의 내용이라고 하면 뒤의 내용이라고 하는것보다 더 나을 것도 없다.

라는 의미로 해석

- A whale is no more a fish than a horse is ( a fish)

* I can do it better than you do ( better = well )

* He is better than me. ( better = good)

* I have more money than ~ ( more = much)

* I have more friends than ~ ( more = many)

1) many 비교급 : more + 복수명사 : 더많은

2) much 비교급 : more + 불가산명사 - 형용사 - 더 많은

3) much 비교급 : 부사 - 더 많이 ( I love you more than he does)

4) 접두어

This is more important than that. 더

* ~er / more / less than

The ~er than

1) the ~er of the two : of 중에서

Of gold and silver , the latter is the less expensive.

Q : Which do you like the better of the two girls?

A : I like her younger sister better than her.

A : I like her younger sister the better of the two twins.

~ 둘중에서 더 ~ 하다.

2) the ~er ... (than) X [ because , because of , far ]

원인 때문에 더

much more = still more : 더욱이 ~( 긍정문에서 사용)

much less = still less : 더욱이 (부정문에서 사용)

* 비교급을 수식하는 부사는 ‘매우’에 해당하는 ‘very'를 사용하지 않는다

또한 all the , any the , so much the 등도 비교급을 수식할 수 있다.

* A rather than B = rather A than B : A 라기 보다는 B

* A other than B = other A than B : B를 제외한 A

* know better than to vR

~하는 행위를 하기보다는 더 현명하다. ~ 할만큼 어리석지는 않다.

- You should have known better than to ignore him.

원급비교 , 비교급 비교, 최상급 비교 학습하는중 헷갈리는 것도 많았지만

흐름대로 해석하고 규칙대로 파악하면 된다.

관용표현을 꼼꼼히 살펴보고 숙지해야겠다.

비교구문에서 부사 형용사 의 구별 그것들을 수식할수 있는 것들에 대해서도 헷갈리지 않게 파악해야겟다.

처음이라 조금 헷갈리는 것 같다....
