-> observe의 목적어 길어서 뒤로, 전치사구 앞으로 도치된 구조. (타전짝짝)

* hold O fast : O를 꽉 붙잡다

* fast : 1, 빠르게 2, 고정된, 꽉 3, 굶다 (fasting 금식)

I looked my enemy in the eye.

* look + O + in(at, into) + the 신체일부 : 신체일부를 주시해보다.

I could see him clearly, one eye screwed up, his mouth twisted into a brutal smile. 

* 분사구문

-> one was screwed up and his mouth was twisted into... 

-> one eye (being) screwed up, his mouth (being) twisted into..

If only I could die!

= I wish I could die. 죽을 수 있다면 얼마나 좋을까!

4. 듣고난 소감 : 데미안 내용도 점점 더 흥미있어지는 부분이라 몰입됩니다. 제가 먼저 해석해본 것을 타미샘 수업 들으면서 맞춰보는 재미가 있네요. 맞으면 뿌듯하고 애매모호하거나 모르는 부분은 배울 수 있어 좋습니다. 다음 수업도 기대가 됩니다.
