-동사의 어이에 따른 변화

o, x, s, sh, ch로 끝나는 동사는 -es 첨가

box - boxes  He boxes his junior on the cheek.

do - does  She does everything on her own.

miss- misses  He misses her much.

loss - losses  He losses courage often.

watch - watches   The boy watches the sheep.

mix - mixes  Mother mixes every ingredient.

match - matches  It matches his hair.

-자음 + y  -ies로 

study - studies  / fly - flies / copy - copies / bully - bullies

-접속사 or, nor, as well as, not only -but also

A as well as B의 경우만 앞의 A에 주어를 일치시티고 나머지는 모두 B 동사에 일치시킨다

either A or B 

neither A nor B                    -> B에 동사 일치시킨다

not only A but also B

not just A but also B / not merely A but also B / not simply A but also B

-유도부사 there + V + 주어는 뒤 주어에 동사의 수를 맞춘다

-There (seem) to 동사원형 + 주어

There seem to be fewer tourists aroung this year.

-A of B 형태의 주어

앞의 명사가 주어이긴 하지만 뒤에서 수식하는 명사에 의해

단, 복수가 결정되므로 뒤에 오는 명사로 동사의 수를 일치 시킨다

명사 + of + 명사 + V

some of them, soem of the wood, any of my books, any of my money, the rest of it

the rest of it, both of us, either of my parents, neither of my arms

All of that noise bothers the senior classes.

All of her classmates were very sad.

The rest of the crew were interned and the rest of the fuel was burned.

-A + 전치사 + B 형태의 주어는 A 명사에 일치

The  books  on the shelf look very old.

-선행 명사 + who, which, that (관계사 주격) + 술어동사는 선행명사의 수에 일치 시킨다.

-every + 단수가산명사 + 단수술어동사 는 단수 동사사용

all + 복.가

every / each + 단.가

one of  복수명사 + 관계사 주격 + 복수동사

the only one of 복수명사 + 관계사주격 + 단수동사

빈도부사 표현법

every + 서수 + 단수명사: every fourth year

every + 기수 + 복수명사: every four years

every day

every 2nd day

every two days
